WASHED
Indicates whether the garment should be washed by hand or machine.
Maximum washing temperature in degrees Celsius.
DRYING
- Symbol of a Circle:
Can be tumble dried
- Symbol of a Square:
Flat drying, no tumble dryer.
- Symbol of a Square with a Circle inside:
Tumble dry at low temperature.
- Symbol of a Square with 3 lines:
Tumble dry at high temperature.
IRONING
Indicates if it can be ironed.
The dots indicate the maximum ironing temperature.
Bleaching:
- Triangle symbol:
Can be bleached with chlorine.
- Symbol of a triangle with crossed lines:
Do not use bleach.
DRY CLEANING
Indicates the type of dry cleaning solvent allowed.
- Q: Indicates that any dry cleaning solvent can be used.
- F: It means that a hydrocarbon-based dry cleaning solvent should be used.
- W: Indicates that water can be used in the dry cleaning process, so the garment is suitable for wet and dry cleaning processes.
- A: Refers to milder solvents in the dry cleaning process, such as tetrachlorethylene.
SPECIAL CARES
They could include specific instructions, such as do not twist, wash with similar colors, do not iron on prints, among others.
